Wally Cupitt has been selected to represent our winery and region at the NSW Food and Wine Festival Rising Star Dinner, held at Chiswick At The Gallery. The dinner showcases the best and brightest young talent in the NSW food and wine world including five young sommeliers, five young winemakers, five young producers and five young chefs. The dinner will feature a menu created by the next generation chefs from Marque, Yellow, Momofuku Seiobo, Pei Modern and host restaurant, Chiswick at the gallery, matched with wines from talented winemakers from Helm, Nick O’Leary, Briar Ridge and Cupitt’s Winery.
Wally has selected to showcase our 2014 Alphonse Sauvignon, the style of this wine was shaped largely by his vintage experience in the Sancerre region of France working with 19th Generation winemaker Alphonse Mellot, who is widely known as a Sauvignon Artist, producing the most the most brilliant and pure illustrations of the Sauvignon grape.
Cupitt’s 2014 Alphonse Sauvignon was handpicked from a single vineyard and wholebunch pressed. Thirty per cent was aged in one year old French oak barriques giving the wine a refined style. The palate has citrus and gooseberry, with herbaceous notes and a restrained mineralty.
The dinner has sold out but for other Food and Wine festival events visit http://www.nswfoodandwine.com.au/
